Doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis (dPEP) effectively prevented STIs in trials among cisgender men and transgender women but not among cisgender women because use of dPEP was low. Understanding the barriers to dPEP adherence in women is essential to interpreting trial results and to inform implementation. |
