Polymer-based composites have become significant classes of materials in a variety of technological applications. Depending on the characteristics of the chosen nanofillers, polymer nanocomposites can provide changed characteristics that are different from the individual polymer systems with increased application possibilities. These composite systems exhibit synergy with modified tunability of the properties in various electro/electrical applications. This chapter highlights the suitability of PNC films and coatings in the field of corrosion and wear inhibition in metal-based structures and systems. Various conducting polymer-based composites with specific importance to polyaniline and polypyrrole nanocomposites with suitably optimized nanodispersants have been utilized as corrosion inhibitors. The properties of these PNCs could be tailored for various uses in corrosion inhibition and antiwear applications. Corrosion and wear are very sensitive factors restricting the lifespan and functionality of engineering systems and components, whether they are large and complex machines or tiny electronic devices. Understanding the underlying processes of corrosion and wear problems is essential for the effective development of anticorrosive materials.
