摘要
Many brain disorders are diagnosed by visual inspection of electroencephalography (EEG) signals. There are five major brain waves distinguished by their different frequency ranges. These include: alpha, theta, beta, delta and gamma. The EEG recording electrodes and their proper function are crucial for acquiring high quality data. This chapter highlights the most popular changes in EEG measurements which correlate with physiological and mental abnormalities in the brain. Mental fatigue mainly affects the function of the brain network rather than changing the normal brain rhythms significantly. The brain right hemisphere is associated with emotions. Neurodevelopmental disorders are a group of disorders that affect the development of the nervous system, leading to abnormal brain function which may affect emotion, learning ability, self-control, and memory. The ageing process affects the normal cerebral activity in awake and sleep human, and changes the response of the brain to stimuli.
