Addition of Sydnones to para‐Quinone Methides: Selective 1,6‐Additions and Oxidative C−H Functionalizations

Abstract Cu(OTf) 2 catalysed 1,6‐addition and oxidative C−H functionalization of p ‐quinone methides with sydnones is developed. Diversely substituted triarylmethanes and quinones have been synthesized in good to excellent yields in short reaction time. Further, the antioxidant activity of some of the synthesised triarylmethanes was investigated using DPPH assay and the compounds show good antioxidant property.
