摘要
In this paper, we investigate the impact of dual-tone electromagnetic interference (EMI) on an automotive smart power switch. While the traditional direct power injection (DPI) immunity test exposes the device under test (DUT) only to a single frequency at a time, the real-world EMI is mostly multi-tone. Faults occurring under multi-tone due to intermodulation or other effects may be undetected during electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) immunity testing, posing risks to users and liability claims to manufacturers. To address this issue, we modify the DPI test by using a dual-tone disturbance signal, which is closer to reality than the conventional single-tone test. We employ an algorithm that has been previously described in the literature but has not yet been tested on a physical device. We carry out the dual-tone DPI test and compare it to the results of the conventional single-tone DPI test.
