摘要
Abstract Laccase domain‐containing 1 (LACC1) protein is an enzyme highly expressed in inflammatory macrophages, and studies have shown that it has a key role in diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease, arthritis, and microbial infections. Therefore, in this review, we focus on LACC1‐mediated catalysis. In detail, LACC1 converts l ‐CITrulline ( l ‐CIT) to l ‐ORNithine ( l ‐ORN) and isocyanic acid in mice and humans and acts as a bridge between proinflammatory nitric oxide synthase (NOS2) and polyamine immunometabolism, thus exerting anti‐inflammatory and antibacterial effects. Considering the actions of LACC1, targeting LACC1 may be a potent therapeutic avenue for inflammation‐related diseases and microbial infection diseases.
