Abstract The phenothiazine‐based porous organic polymers (PTA‐POPs) were constructed through a facile and cost‐effective method. We used commercial phenothiazine as aromatic building units, formaldehyde dimethyl acetal (FDA) as a crosslinker under the catalysis of anhydrous FeCl 3 , which afford PTA‐POPs with high yield. The phenothiazine‐based porous organic polymers possessed good porosity, excellent thermal stability, and rich heteroatom sites in the skeleton. Cationic PTA‐POP (C‐PTA‐POP) was further synthesized via a simple process. Interestingly, the C‐PTA‐POP exhibited highly effective iodine vapor capture up to 3.69 g g −1 , which is ranked the excellent performance among the reported POPs.
