摘要
A thorough understanding of the concepts in this chapter is essential to conducting rigorous and effective research studies. Proper implementation of these concepts can minimize errors and biases and ensure that research results are valid and reliable. This chapter describes several key research methodology concepts such as pilot studies, pre-testing, quality assurance, quality control, and protocol modifications. A pilot study is a small study conducted before a large study to test the feasibility and effectiveness of the study design and methodology. Pretests are small tests of research tools. Questionnaires to identify potential problems or problems before use in large-scale studies. Both quality assurance and quality control are important factors in ensuring the validity and reliability of research results. Quality assurance includes the implementation of policies and procedures to minimize errors and ensure studies meet defined quality standards. Quality control includes performance monitoring and evaluation to identify and correct errors before they affect final research results. Modifications to the protocol may be necessary during the study to address issues that arise during the study. These changes must be made systematically and consistently to maintain the validity and reliability of the investigation.
