摘要
For decades, pathologists have visually inspected tissue slides stained by H&E and simple, one marker at a time immunohistochemistry (IHC). Novel technologies are now allowing quantitative, spatial profiling of dozens of protein markers at the single-cell level in a single tissue slide. When carefully selected, multiplexed IHC can provide unparalleled insights about disease states by studying detailed tissue architecture and cell–cell interactions in the original tissue context.
