Synthesis of renewable alkylated decalins with p-quinone and 2-methyl-2,4-pentanediol

Alkylated decalins were first produced by the dehydration of 2-methyl-2,4-pentanediol, followed by Diels–Alder reaction with p -quinone and the hydrodeoxygenation.
