We propose a polarization and frequency reconfigurable antenna based on liquid metal, which has dual orthogonal linear polarization and dual operating frequency bands (resonance frequency around 2.4GHz and 3.2GHz). The antenna composes of five patches and two microfluidics channels. By controlling the length and position of the liquid metal in the microfluidics channels, the proposed antenna can be switched between four working states. When the microfluidics channels are filled with symmetric liquid metal, the antenna in the two states has basically the same operating frequency band but orthogonal polarization. The proposed antenna is more flexible than traditional electrical reconfigurable antennas. The design and optimization of the antenna are verified by full-wave simulation.
