Chiral platinum(II) complexes with tetradentate salen ligands were synthesized, and characterized by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. These complexes showed intense yellow and orange circularly polarized luminescence in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) solution state, and theoretical studies using density functional theory (DFT) and time dependent (TD)-DFT calculations revealed correlations between their structures and photophysical properties. Chiral platinum(II) complexes with tetradentate salen ligands were synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic analysis. Obtained complexes exhibited intense yellow and orange circularly polarized luminescence in dilute solution state under UV irradiation, and theoretical study using density functional theory (DFT) and time dependent (TD)-DFT calculations revealed correlation between their structures and photophysical properties.
