摘要
Point process is very useful tool in reliability applications. Until now, the nonhomogeneous Poisson process has taken very important role in reliability area as a useful model for arrival process. The generalized Polya process (GPP) has been recently introduced and characterized in the literature. Distinct from the nonhomogeneous Poisson process, the important feature of this process is the dependence of its future behavior on the number of previous events. In this article, we briefly introduce the GPP and discuss its applications to two types of shock models.
