摘要
Operational and structural variables affecting the performance of sintered iron electrodes were investigated. The porosity of the electrode is the predominant controlling factor, and surface area and neck‐width after sintering, as well as solid phase conductivity, are also important. A recommended sintering condition is 800°C for 0.5 hr. The discharge products were also identified by means of x‐ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy to be at the first discharge stage and at the second stage. Finally a dimensionless group was proposed to estimate the capacity of an iron electrode.
