Nemorosonol, a derivative of tricyclo-[4.3.1.03,7]-Decane-7-hydroxy-2,9-dione from Clusia nemorosa

The structure and relative stereochemistry of nemorosonol, isolated from the fruits of Clusia nemorosa, has been determined by high field 2D 1H(400 MHz) and 13C(100 MHz) NMR spectroscopy. Nemorosonol represents a novel polyisoprenylated benzophenone with the acetate derived benzene ring modified to a tricyclo-[4.3.1.03,7]-decane skeleton.
