Abstract Owing to their natural abundance, alkene has been widely employed in the preparation of various synthetic frameworks and for practical industrial production purposes. Pd‐catalyzed CH functionalization has emerged as one of the most important tools for constructing CC or CX bonds via the generation of different heterocycles, which include pharmaceutically important molecules. Compared with the significant research into transition metal‐catalyzed olefin difunctionalization using activated, preinstalled, and halide substrates, the application of palladium catalysis in CH bond functionalization to afford alkene difunctionalization is less explored, despite being synthetically important. In this article, we provide an overview of recent advancements in olefin difunctionalization resulting from Pd‐catalyzed CH functionalization.
