ABSTRACTCopolymers and terpolymers of acrylonitrile (AN), methyl acrylate (MA), vinyl acetate (VA), and vinyl phosphonic acid (VPA) were synthesized. Thermal gravimetric analysis studies showed that the decomposition of PANMAVPA and PANVAVPA terpolymers started at lower temperatures than PANMA and PANVA copolymers. VPA and MA caused an increase in the ring formation of pendant nitrile groups and the total ash content of PANMAVPA terpolymer. She specializes in resins, conducting polymer and copolymers.Ahmet AkarAhmet Akar is emeritus professor. He is interested in Organic Chemistry, Nano Science &Nano Technology and Polymer Science and Technology. He obtained his BSc/MSc in Chemical Engineering Faculty in 1973 and his PhD degree in molecular science department, Sussex University, England in 1978. He specializes in water-based polymerisation, condensation polymers, polyurethane, conducting polymers and fire retardant additives.
