[Objective] To study volatile oil extracted from the fresh and dry leaves of Lysimachia christinae hance by using steam distillation and blended solvent extraction.[Method] The chemical compositions of volatile oil were evaluated by GC-MS and the relative content of every compound was determined by peak area normalization method.[Result] The results showed that 19 and 14 kinds of compounds were identified from dry and fresh leaves of Lysimachia christinae hance by using steam distillation, respectively.Whereas 20 and 11 kinds of compounds were identified from dry and fresh leaves of Lysimachia christinae hance by using blended solvent extraction, respectively.Compared with two methods, the highest relative content of volatile oil was β-myrcene using by steam distillation, which was 39.67% in the fresh leaf and 42.80% in dry leaf, respectively. However, the highest relative content of volatile oil was diethyl phthalate using by blended solvent extraction, which was 18.05% in the fresh leaf and 28.64% in dry leaf, respectively.[Conclusion] This result indicated that the compositions of volatile oil depended on not only different extraction, but also different processing methods.
