摘要
This study aims to identify and analyze the factors influencing the academic achievement of mathematics education students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Nusa Cendana University. This research is survey research with a sample of 280 students of the Mathematics Education Department. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire containing 4 latent variables and 19 indicator variables, namely the latent variable academic atmosphere (ξ1) consisting of 7 indicator variables, namely lecturers (X1), teaching methods (X2), curriculum (X3), facilities (X4), study discipline (X5), friends (X6) and mass media (X7); latent variable learning method (ξ2) consists of 5 indicator variables namely intelligence (X8), interest (X9), talent (X10), motivation (X11) and how to learn (X12); latent variable educating parents (ξ3) consists of 5 indicator variables namely how to inform parents (X13), relations between family members (X14), home atmosphere (X15), family economy(X16), and community life (X17), the latent variable of health (ξ4) consists of 2 indicator variables namely health (X18) and five senses (X19). Data analysis used confirmatory factor analysis with AMOS. The results of the study show that the indicators that have the most significant contribution to student achievement successively for the four latent variables are curriculum (X3), ways of learning (X10), relations between family members (X14), and health (X18). Meanwhile, if viewed based on the loading factor, the factors that contribute most are the academic atmosphere and learning method. From these results, it can be recommended that the mathematics education department must create an academic atmosphere that supports students learning, collaborating, thinking, and developing creativity in various ways, both in classroom lecture activities and academic activities outside the classroom regularly and consistently.
