A subtle change in substrate stiffness across the critical threshold turns on and off cell traction force and YAP/TAZ signaling, followed by shape adaptation. A frequent mechanical stress beyond the critical frequency suppresses the stem cell proliferation with no loss of multipotency. Volume13, Issue10April 17, 20242470071 RelatedInformation
