摘要
A novel metallic glass, Fe50Cr18Mo10C20Si2 (FeMG), is developed and proposed as a potential bipolar plate for proton exchange membrane fuel cells. Its metallic glass nature ensures that there is an oversaturation of Cr and Mo in the substrate and that a stable Cr–Mo–C-rich passive film forms with fewer defects. Therefore, FeMG shows higher impedance, higher stability, higher corrosion resistance, and a lower ion dissolution rate than SS316 during immersion and electrochemical tests. A comparison with Ti-based alloys, stainless steels, and other metallic glasses clearly shows that the novel FeMG has outstanding corrosion resistance and low cost, indicating its great potential for commercialization.
