摘要
Multi-input multi-output (MIMO) array radar is a new type of radar system that adopts waveform diversity technology at the transmitter and thus different transmit antennas can transmit differed orthogonal or partially correlated signals. By incorporating sparse array design with MIMO radar system, the advantages of both promising technologies, those are waveform diversity and sparse optimization, can be fully synthesized. On one hand, the MIMO transceiver possesses more degrees of freedom (DoFs), which provide more possibilities for the improvement of specific radar functions; on the other hand, the sparse transceiver design can reduce the system overhead and power consumption. In this chapter, we investigate the joint sparse optimization of MIMO radar transceiver for different task requirements under different criteria.
