摘要
Editor—Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly through large language models such as ChatGPT (https://chatgpt.com), can aid physicians and patients in making informed decisions regarding the selection of evidence-based treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of patients.1 However, it is critical to remain cautious as these AI systems, despite their capabilities, might still deliver inaccurate information. We examined ChatGPT-generated recommendations for perioperative pain management across five common surgical procedures, and assessed their agreement with the PROcedure-SPECific postoperative pain managemenT (PROSPECT) recommendations.2 We compared recommendations from ChatGPT with PROSPECT because its methodology is rigorous based on critical assessment of published randomised controlled trials (RCTs).2
