摘要
In today's modern world, where everything has to be efficient and cost-productive, vortex production in the fluid flow can increase heat transfer, resulting in improved mixing of fluids at different temperatures. It helps to increase the properties of the fluid to ideal properties. Parallel-plate channel convective heat transfer has a wide variety of applications in portable heat exchangers, such as plate heat exchangers. In this research paper, the structure of vortices induced by the spiral coil is examined, and also analysed the effects of vortices on velocity and temperature fields for heat transfer enrichment. Three-dimensional numerical simulation (computational fluid dynamics) is used to investigate the flow fields, and heat transfer characteristics in a parallel-plate channel with a transversely positioned spiral coil insert. The combined effect of spiral coil inserts and nanofluids is also investigated. Initially, the flow domain with inserts is analyzed only with water as base fluid and extended this study with nanofluids (Al2O3-H2O). The numerical results are analyzed with different heat transfer characteristics, and a comparison has been made to identify the significance of inserts, nanofluids, and their combinations for heat transfer enhancement.
