Association of Carbon Tetrachloride, Chloroform, and Dichloromethane with Cyclodextrins in Aqueous Medium

Abstract The 1:1 host (cyclodextrin, CyD)–guest (CCl4, CHCl3, and CH2Cl2) association constants at 25 °C have been determined by making use of the volatilization rate of guest from aqueous into gaseous phase. No association was observed between γ-CyD and the three guests and between β-CyD and CH2Cl2.
