Study on classic garden design and its modern application from the view of nature in both Western and Eastern history

Since ancient times, the garden design is an expression about nature. Natural view is a kind of metaphysical cognizing which entrenched human thinking, while the garden is a performance state of natural view. It is the philosophy of nature that makes landscape architecture design close to its essence. In this article, it is intended through the differences between the Eastern and Western thinking way to manifest people's different aesthetics thoughts about the nature and the diverse performances in their classical gardens. From a historical perspective, it explains the profound association of nature view with the design of landscape architecture, and also with the contemporary system of nature view and its understanding way. By then it indicates what the landscape architecture designs should do. Nowadays, landscape architects sought to establish a contemporary landscape design transformation—from landscape aesthetics space design to the nature systemic inducted space design. In the design process, designer must depend on the site itself condition, and with systemic nature concept to read it and treat it. After that, we can gain the basic design logic and achieve a harmony landscape space in the aesthetics and technology united way.
