摘要
Quantum friction is a phenomenon where quantum fluctuations of the electrodynamic vacuum lead to a lateral force between two objects moving relative to each other, thus leading to friction. In this paper, the authors study quantum friction under nonequilibrium conditions and demonstrate that common assumptions such as local thermal equilibrium can contradict basic principles of thermodynamics.
