摘要
Abstract We investigated the effectiveness of O3 and O3/UV at removing pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) from secondary effluent in a bench-scale experimental setup. Most of the PPCPs were effectively removed by both O3 and O3/UV. Effective removal by O3 required an energy consumption of only 0.09 kWh m−3, whereas O3/UV required 1.09 kWh m−3, indicating that O3 is much more cost-effective than O3/UV at PPCP removal. Thus, ozonation is a promising technology for the removal of various PPCPs. Keywords: Ozone Ozone/UVAdvanced Oxidation ProcessesPPCPsPharmaceuticals
