摘要
The emerging reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) technique can effectively compensate the propagation loss in millimeter wave communications. Considering the mobility of users in realistic environment, it is urgent to design efficient beam tracking algorithms for RIS to fast align the target users. In this work, we propose a practical codebook-based RIS passive configuration based on the updating channel parameters, i.e., angle-of-departures (AoDs) of RIS-users links, to avoid complex channel estimation procedure. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has high tracking accuracy, and yields better sum rate performance compared with the conventional channel estimation method.
