摘要
Objectives of the project were to compare essential oil extraction methods from the double-flower variety of tuberose (Polyanthes tuberosa L.). They were extracted by cold and hot enfleurage, by hexane and petroleum ether extraction. Then, tuberose absolutes were subjected to analyze for chemical compositions by a GC-MS. The results showed that percentage yields of tuberose oil getting from cold enfleurage, hot enfleurage, hexane extraction and petroleum ether extraction were 0.3137 percent, 6.5808 percent, 0.0279 percent, and 0.0182 percent, respectively. Main chemical components detected in both enfleurage absolutes was methyl benzoate, while benzyl benzoate and pentacosane were found to be the main chemical components in hexane and petroleum ether absolutes, respectively.
