摘要
Ceria--zirconia nanoparticles 2 nm in size and with an increased Ce3+ ratio exhibit greatly enhanced scavenging performance for reactive oxygen species (ROS). In their Communication on page 11399 ff., S.-H. Lee, T. Hyeon et al. report the superiority of Ce0.7Zr0.3O2 nanoparticles in regulating inflammatory cells. They work as a potent ROS scavenger for multiple organ dysfunction in sepsis by reducing the mortality and inflammatory responses.
