AbstractVoxel-based morphometry is a computational method that measures geometric parameters or differences in local concentrations of brain structure, through a voxel-wise analysis of multiple brain images in the study of brain anatomy or brain physiology or pathology. Voxel-based morphometry studies are focused on the “normal brain” in most of the studies before. There are only few studies used voxel-based morphometry to analyze the correlation of the geometric features and biological features in brain tumors. In this chapter, we present the results of our studies of using voxel-based morphometry on different types of brain tumors. We are hereby presenting: (1) Analysis of geometric features of brain tumors with voxel-based morphometry is independent of scanning parameters. (2) Analysis of geometric features of brain tumors with voxel-based morphometry is independent of inter-patient heterogeneity and intra-tumor heterozygosity.KeywordsVoxel-based morphometryBrain tumorsMeningiomaGliomaMetastatic brain tumors
