Synthesis and crystal structures of yttrium and dysprosium tetrakis(hexafluoroacetylacetonato) complex anions with tetramethylammonium counterions

The isostructural mononuclear complexes (Et3NH)[M(hfac)4], where M = Y (1) and Dy (2), Hhfac = hexafluoroacetylacetone, have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The two compounds crystalize in monoclinic crystal system (P21/n space group). The purity of the crystalline phases was investigated by X-ray powder diffraction. The analysis of the packing diagram reveals the segregation of the fluorine atoms from the CF3 groups.
