The safety of production and the health of on-site workers are greatly affected by dust pollution in metal mines. In recent years, wet-type and bag-type dust collectors with high efficiency have been widely used for dedusting. However, a series of problems exist, such as high resistance, and high energy consumption. This paper presents a review of the research and development regarding occupational hazards and dust control/removal methods in metal mines in China. First, it introduces the occupational hazards of dust in metal mines and discusses the pathogenic mechanism and sources of dust. Then, several dust control methods, including ventilation, sealed, spray, dust suppressant, and curtain dust isolation are examined. Additionally, this paper discusses the difficulties in the development of dust control in China. Finally, some valuable suggestions are made for future development on dedusting measures in metal mines. This review provides references for scientific and green mining in China.
