摘要
Ultraviolet (UV) communication, as an emerging wireless data communication technology, has attracted increasing attention from researchers. Without the need for complicated pointing, acquisition, and tracking, UV optical wireless communication has emerged as a practical solution for free space data links. This letter reports the utilization of a large FoV UV LED array transmitter enabling a long-range UV communication system over 1.1 km. The measured data transmission rate is 1.25 Mbps using an on-off keying (OOK) modulation scheme and a photomultiplier tube receiver. Error-free data transmission was achieved using the Binarization Algorithm and forward error correction (FEC) coding. These findings indicate that the communication links based on UV LED arrays offer a novel means of communication for emergency, secure, and complex environment applications.
