Six new species of Aspidistra (Asparagaceae: Convallarioideae) from China and Vietnam

This paper continues to publish new discovered from successive investigation of the species diversity of the Aspidistra genus in recent years. Six new species of Aspidistra (Asparagaceae) are described and illustrated: four from China, Aspidistra dentosa, A. dissecta, A. dongxingensis (SW Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region) and A. anlongensis (SW Guizhou Province), and two from northern Vietnam, A. longibracteata and A. backanensis. All described species are local endemics of southern China and northern Vietnam. Except for Aspidistra dongxingensis living in non-limestone areas, all other species are restricted to limestone regions. The morphology, ecology, phenology, distribution and photographs are provided for all novel taxa.
