摘要
Near-surface ozone pollution poses a significant threat to respiratory health, with the lung micro-environment playing a crucial role in its effects. This paper highlights the potential of exhalation metabolomics as a novel approach to investigate the respiratory health impacts of ozone pollution. By analyzing exhaled breath metabolites, we can gain insights into the biological responses triggered by ozone exposure. This strategy offers a non-invasive, real-time monitoring tool to assess individual susceptibility and health outcomes. Furthermore, exhalation metabolomics has the potential to inform the development of concentration limits for ozone pollution control, providing a scientific basis for effective policy-making and public health interventions.
