Drospirenone-containing hormone therapy for postmenopausal women. Perspective on current data.

A novel progestogen, drospirenone, in combination with 17beta-estradiol has been studied as hormone therapy (HT) for menopausal symptoms. In addition to providing effective and safe relief of menopausal symptoms, the combination has a beneficial effect on blood pressure and weight gain.
