In article number 1801778, Yanfei Yang and Junping Zhang report a laponite nanosheets-coated Celgard separator, showing high efficiency in inhibiting polysulfide shuttle, high Li+ conductivity, fast Li+ diffusion, and excellent electrolyte wettability. The Li-S batteries show high initial reversible capacity, high rate performance, superior cycling stability, and ultralow self-discharge. Clay minerals are very promising materials for designing advanced separators.
