Creativity assessment has been studied for nearly as long as creativity itself. In this chapter, we review many different ways of measuring creativity. Most common are divergent thinking tests, including the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking, although they are not without controversy. More recently, expert raters have been used to evaluate creative work, as outlined in the Consensual Assessment Technique. Peers, teachers, and parents have also been asked to assess a child's creativity, and self-ratings can be used as well. Finally, we provide a rationale for including creativity as part of a battery of assessments.
