Perovskites have shown great promise as an efficient light absorption material in solar cells owing to their high carrier mobilities and large charge diffusion lengths. Extensive research is being conducted to improve the stability and performance of these solar cells. In this regard, the introduction of conducting polymers in perovskite solar cells as composites, passivation, and charge transport materials has led to enhanced environmental stability and performance. Many conducting polymers aid in tuning the morphology and also passivate charge trap sites in perovskite solar cells. In this review, a broad overview of recent advancements in perovskite/conducting polymer-based material combinations for enhancing the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells is discussed. With a special emphasis on the interaction of perovskite and conjugated polymer phases, the multiple roles of conjugated polymers in enhancing the morphology, charge carrier lifetime, and charge transport of perovskite solar cells are described in detail.
