CHARACTERISTICS AND SIGNIFICANCE OF METALLIC MINERALS FROM WULAN WUZHUER COPPER DEPOSIT IN THE EASTERN KUNLUN OROGENIC BELT,QINGHAI PROVINCE

A detailed research on polished sections and thin sections shows that the major minerals of Wulan Wuzhuer copper deposit are pyrite,chalcopyrite,magnetite,pyrrhotite,arsenopyrite,sphalerite,wolframite,cassiterite and so on.According to analysis of metallic mineral assemblage,compositions and fluid inclusions,it is concluded that the metallic minerals were mainly formed in a high sulfur fugacity and reduced environment.The ore deposit underwent cassiterite-polymetal and chalcopyrite-polymetal metallogenic stages.Combining the study of regional and orefield geology,the deposit is considered to be of meso-hydrothermal copper type.
