The irrigation system is a key component of the gas primary cooler. Enhancing the uniformity of the water irrigation system can extend the operating time of the gas cooler, prevent the shell side from being blocked, and improve the heat transfer efficiency. In contrast to the high cost and long test cycle of factory testing, this article, based on a physical model analysis of the irrigation process, developed a simulation research method for the primary cooler irrigation system using the multiphase model. The study examined the impact of different water injection rates on uniformity. The results show that the optimal range for uniformity of irrigation water flow velocity is 1.1–1.3 m/s, and when the injection density is equal to or > 6.21 m 3 /m 2 /h, the water film distribution is relatively uniform. Changing the irrigation water flow velocity has little effect on the coke oven gas outlet temperature.
