The advancement of soft sensing and actuation technology has opened a new horizon for human life, and laser-assisted material processing offers robust support for soft sensing and actuation. Unlike traditional fabrication methods that rely on rigid substrates, laser processing can be easily integrated with soft electronics. With its high local energy deposition, excellent resolution, easy customization, and ability to generate rich reaction products, laser-assisted materials processing has become indispensable for realizing soft sensing and actuation devices. This review summarizes the recent applications of laser-assisted material processing in soft electronics and robots, highlights their advantages, and provides a glimpse into the future of laser technology in soft electronic devices.
