摘要
Wearable sensors are a convenient method for monitoring human health parameters. In medical application, a number of wearable sensors have been developed to monitor different parameters like body temperature, muscle motion, heart rate, blood pressure etc. Plastic optical fiber (POF) is a suitable media for developing sensors for human parameters monitoring. The compact and light weight sensors developed by using plastic optic fiber has certain advantages compared to its counterparts. The immunity to electromagnetic interference makes fiber sensors suitable for medical instruments where other instruments are also operational in the surroundings. This paper reviews the recent developments in POF based wearable sensors.
