摘要
The energy consumption may become a significant concern in vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) due to the increase of communications among battery-powered wireless devices of vehicles. We proposes an energy consumption location-based QoS routing (ELQR) protocol to establish routes from a source to a destination assisted by routers to save energy and overcome the deadlock problem. Particularly, the ELQR protocol uses the direction reference technique to select the next node during route discovery process. Besides, each device can intelligently adjust the transmission power to save the energy consumption for routing process. Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed ELQR protocol outperforms state-of-the-art routing protocols in terms of routing delay, control overhead, packet delivery ratio, and energy consumption.
