摘要
A new second-generation superaustenitic stainless steel has been developed with the objective of achieving nickel alloy corrosion resistance at a moderate cost. This paper describes the results of corrosion studies which show that Avesta 654 SMO is more resistant than superaustenitic 6Mo and superduplex steels to localized corrosion in aggressive chloride solutions and that it compares favourably with some nickel-base alloys. The resistance to uniform corrosion in halide-containing acids is also superior to that of other stainless steels.
