摘要
A study of monochloroacetic acid as a scavenger in glow-discharge electrolysis in aqueous solutions suggests that there is a primary yield of 3.3 mol mol−1 of hydrated electrons under conditions where the primary yield of OH radicals is 6.5 mol mol−1. The speed of formation of molecular hydrogen from hydrated electrons or hydrogen atoms in glow-discharge electrolysis is such that other reactions of these species are usually unimportant.
