摘要
Significance CRISPR-Cas9 is a powerful site-specific genome-editing tool that has been used to genetically engineer many different systems. However, this tool has not yet been adopted for use in the baculovirus–insect cell system, which is an important recombinant protein production platform. Thus, we created new CRISPR-Cas9 vectors that can be used for genome editing in two relevant insect cell lines. This is significant because these tools will enable new efforts to enhance the capabilities and expand the utility of this important protein production platform.
