Vitiligo, a commonly acquired depigmenting disorder, is clinically characterized by well-demarcated areas of depigmentation because of the loss of melanocytes. It can be classified into segmental and nonsegmental vitiligo. Segmental vitiligo has an early onset, stabilizes rapidly, and is characterized by unilateral, segmental patches that do not cross the midline (Fig 1).
